It is not a digital product.
But why did I put this work in my portfolio? Actually, the reasoning is very simple. I am willing to show my variety of skills. I am not limited to designing UI elements. I enjoy working with projects that require works from different design fields and Fablo was exactly that.
In this project I had the chance to contribute as a Concept Designer where I was trusted with creating variety of visual assets from branding to print elements or from social media design to packaging.
I feel lucky to be a part of Fablo’s world, what a pleasure it was!

Introduction
Fablo is an interactive educational product based on fable-style stories. It aims to enhance children’s motor skills with its interactive wooden boards while entertaining them with stories taking place in the universe of Fablo the Beaver. For this project, I designed the physical user experience, branding, and marketing materials for the Fablo universe.

What Is Fablo ?

Fablo is... a Beaver !
Fablo aims to be a friend of children, helping their learning with inspirational stories.
Fablo loves trees and everything made our of wood.
Creation of Fablo’s Universe
The development of Fablo started with building a solid brand foundation, beginning with the logo design and setting up a standard color palette and fonts to keep everything consistent. After the visual identity was ready, I moved on to the main elements: designing the graphics for the physical boards, creating different characters, and building a custom icon set. Once those were done, I applied everything to the game cards' design. Finally, to get the product ready for the real world, I worked on the packaging and created a social media design to show the project to the audience.
Logo Design
The fact that Fablo is the name of the main character, the Beaver, was decided from the very beginning. The first brief was to create Beaver Mascot so that kids would love it. After discussions with the client, we decided to move with a more abstract approach and started to wonder how we can abstract a beaver in a logo.
Moodboard
We started with a moodboard to feed our understanding and imagination of such a product and branding. Idea was to create a scene that shows a moment from the life of Fablo.

First Drafts
These are the first drafts to discover what can be done and what would be the scene to show via the logo.

A New Idea
Along with creating scene via logo, we also wanted to test if we can abstract the concept of Beaver. Here is the first of abstracting process. Here, the color palette was also different than the initial colors of the brand.

Final Logo
This is the final logo, loved by the client and eventually made us feel like we managed to abstract the concept of Beaver.

Color Palette and Fonts to
Standartize Visual Identity
The final color palette of the entire Fablo Universe is quite broad, aiming to cover all future products, visuals, and illustrations. Every physical board, character, print material, digital material, and photograph must follow this color palette to build a consistent brand image, similar to its competitors. There are a couple of rules for using this color system, which are explained in the board and character artwork.

Fonts
Baloo 2 is used for titles to align with the rectangles in the logo. It is a friendly heading font. Meanwhile, Montserrat is used for the body text to ensure better readability.

BODY: MONTSERRAT
Fablo is a new world where imagination, friendship, nature, and adventure intertwine, open to children and everyone who keeps their inner child alive. Our aim is to provide our children with a safe, colorful, and inspiring play experience, while fostering respect for nature as a fundamental principle and enabling them to gain new skills by pushing the boundaries of their creativity.

Graphics of Physical Boards
Each physical board has a story (in book format). The scenes shown on the boards are designed based on these stories, meaning that every board has a different storybook and shows a different scene from Fablo’s universe. This is the very first board, which functions as an introduction to Fablo’s universe and lets us meet Fablo and a couple of his friends.
